Recruitment FAQ’s – There is a comprehensive recruitment FAQ now on the website on the Homepage under National Recruitment

3rd February 2012

Advertisement – The advertisement for ICM recruitment will be placed on the NHS Jobs website, the BMJ and on the West Midlands Deanery website.

17th February

Application Window Opens – The online application forms will be available.

5th March 2012

Application Window Closes – The online application forms will no longer be available and late applications cannot be accepted

Action – Please make trainees aware of this and warn them not to leave their application until the last minute since the system becomes extremely busy as deadlines approach and they run the risk of missing the deadline for applications.

13th – 20th March

Shortlisting – Shortlisting will be done online using a bespoke scoring system and all longlisted applicants will be double scored. All regions have been invited to nominate individuals for shortlisting to ensure essential local input into what is a nationally co-ordinated process

20th – 26th March

Candidates Invited for Interview – candidates selected via the shortlisting process will be invited for interview.

17th & 18th April

Interviews – Interviews will be held over 2 days. There will be multiple streams each consisting of 5 interview stations. 3 of these will be face to face stations and 2 will be OSCE type stations.

23rd April

Offers – the first wave of offers will be made. Each Deanery will be offered the highest ranked candidate who listed them in their preferences and candidates will be offered their highest preference based on their ranking.

End of Recruitment Round 1 – this is the end of Round 1 recruitment and any applicant still holding an offer must accept or reject it.

1st June

Final Decision on Round 2 – a final decision will be taken as to the need for a Round 2 recruitment process. We will be able to see from 23rd April onwards how many ICM posts (if any) are likely to be left unfilled and contingency plans will already have been enacted in the event that a Round 2 looks likely to be required. There will be further communication regarding this process and the intended RA’s and TPD’s contributions to it if it is felt likely this will be required.
