Location AM: Anaesthetic seminar room, Anaesthetic Department CGH. This is in Alexandra House (AH) and if you are parking at the Lido is best accessed through the oncology entrance.

Location PM: ITU seminar room on DCC CGH. This is in St. Luke’s Wing. (SL)

Please leave plenty of time for parking which can be very difficult on site. Parking in the Lido carpark may be the best option or on Bath Rd and walking.

Timetable

10am- 12.15pm:

US teaching with Dr. Tom Knight, Consultant Anaesthetist, to include
- Serratus anterior blocks
- Rectus sheath catheters
- Erector spinae blocks
- Neuroaxial scanning

Time to practice on each other if anyone will volunteer……

12.15pm – 1.15pm: Lunch

1.15pm – 2pm: Dr. Alex D’Agapeyeff, former anaesthesia CD and current Deputy Medical Director talking about management, and the shortlisting and interview process.

2pm-2.45pm: Dr. Ted Rees, Consultant anaesthetist and former Head of School talking on ‘The struggling Trainee.’

2.45pm - 3pm: Break

3pm- 3.45pm: Andy Foo, Consultant in ITU and Anaesthesia, talking from a personal perspective on the consultant appointment process and the challenges as a new consultant.

3.45pm: Finish
