RITA and ARCP
Record of In-Training Assessment (RITA)
A Record of In-Training Assessment (RITA) should occur at the end of each year of training. You should be informed by the School when your next RITA is due approximately 6 weeks prior to the date. It is then up to you to liaise with your college tutors and get the paperwork done in time otherwise you will be issued with a RITA D which signals room for improvement. You are aiming for a RITA C (move on to next year) at the end of each year and a RITA G (all aspects of training completed) at the end of year 7.
Paperwork to be forwarded to Julie Flowers, School Support Manager, prior to your RITA are:

- Trainer RITA Assessment Form
- Up-to-date copy of your curriculum vitae
Paperwork to bring with you on the day of your RITA:
- Competency based training workbook
- Educational Portfolio
Please ensure that your logbook is also completed and up-to-date.

Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP)
All trainees occupying a Specialty training post are required to undertake a yearly assessment of their progress (ARCP). Each annual assessment is carried out by a small specialty-based panel as detailed in the Gold Guide. It will provide an opportunity for the trainee to provide comments on their training to date, as well as reviewing their progress/competences and identifying specific training needs. You will need to submit some documents prior to your ARCP and bring some with you on the day, all this is listed on the ARCP Requirement - Summary Sheets (below).

- ST5 ARCPs - Thursday, 21st June 2012
- ST6 ARCPs - Friday, 22nd June 2012

- CT2 ARCPs - Friday, 6th July 2012
- ST4 ARCPs - Thursday, 19th July 2012
- ST7 ARCPs - Wednesday, 12th September 2012

ARCP Requirements 2012 CT1-2 If you will not have completed the core competencies or the Primary exam before your year 2 ARCP please inform the Training Programme Director (Core) well in advance.
ARCP Requirements 2012 ST3-4 For those doing two blocks of ICM, please contact the Training Programme Director (Specialty) well in advance if you wish to carry forward a general module to year 5.
